A motorized bicycle (moped) rider injures an elderly person (2-week diagnosis) through failure to drive safely in an elderly protection zone. What happens?
Answer: ① No punishment if the rider has comprehensive insurance.
Unlike in children's protection zones, an injury accident to an elderly person in an elderly protection zone is handled as an ordinary traffic accident. Failure to drive safely is not one of the special exceptions, so with comprehensive insurance (or a settlement) the rider is not prosecuted.
